Furthermore it is blessed by having a decent condition and very functional Stith-Kollmorgen Double 4x scope mounted on Redfield QC mounts, as well as a nice leather sling - all period-correct. I fully expected the stock to need a re-finish (it does.) But the metal is in 92%+ condition. After more than a week and a half wait for the rifle to be transferred to me in a town a scant 50 miles away from the seller, I was finally able to go rescue it from postal and retail limbo today. Well, on somewhat of a whim, and in a somewhat hurried decision, I placed a GB bid on an old Browning Safari Hi-Power rifle, built in Belgium on the FN Mauser action, and chambered in the very eclectic (and rare) 264 Win Mag caliber.
